Who we are………… The S*tar Project is an education outreach initiative for young people aged 12 – 25. We are part of Southampton Rape Crisis and Sexual Abuse Counselling Service. This is a safe space where all men and women can talk to someone about any unwanted sexual experience. The S*tar Project has been around since October 2000.

Why we are here………… The S*tar Project aims to reduce the incidence of rape and sexual abuse, whilst raising awareness of support services via creative and innovative workshops and activities with young people in Southampton. Since S*tar has been going, Southampton Rape Crisis has seen an increase of 3 times as many young people accessing this service via telephone or face to face counselling.

What you can expect from us……… If you were to contact Southampton Rape Crisis via telephone, you would be offered a confidential free service. Your private stuff would remain private and you would be treated with respect and dignity. You can also ask someone you trust to ring us on your behalf if you'd like.

What we do……… We run interactive and creative workshops and activities with young people in Southampton around the themes of different kinds of relationships and support services amongst other specific targeted work. We do this in a variety of settings including schools and youth groups.
